Regency Park is the first community in the nation to offer Illuminations. This unique transition program is available to residents who are experiencing memory loss, but not yet at a level that requires the close supervision available in our memory care community.
The goal of Illuminations is to make the most of our residents' independence as their need for memory care rises. Residents continue to enjoy the independence of their private apartment but receive additional support through enhanced interaction with friends and specialized social activities, such as cooking, music, exercise, celebrations or pet therapy.
These daily activities provide both structure and routine, which decrease anxiety in individuals experiencing memory loss.
By building trust and acting as a supportive confidant, our Illuminations Coordinator is able to encourage each resident to seek meaningful experiences every day. And because they spend so much time with the intimate group of Illuminations participants, our dedicated coordinator is equipped to continually assess residents’ progress and determine when, if necessary, a move to a more closely supervised environment is appropriate.
